  • 09/16/10--18:00: Is God Mad As Hell? - Sep 17,2010 (chan 2979548)
  • Okay this conversation is one that plagues the people of God and often alienates many from joining our churches or staying in our fellowship. This very thought of Jesus has been used to demonize others who do not believe as we believe that Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life... and no one gets to the Father except by Jesus. This has become a certain mantra or a battle cry that leads to a superiority mindset that is quite popular in Christendom. Here are questions we will address: 1. Is the religious life focused on this life or the next (and if both, then in what proportion)? 2. Is it about meeting God's requirements, whether they are many or few? Or about living by grace in a place beyond the dynamic of requirements? 3. Does it lead to a preoccupation with our own salvation and goodness (or lack thereof)? Or to liberation from self pre-occupation? 4. Does it result in an emphasis on righteousness and boundary drawing? Or is the emphasis on compassion and an inclusive social (and even ecological) vision? 5. Is it about believing in a supernatural being "out there" or about being in a relationship with a sacred reality "right here"? We will discuss these questions and more like what did Jesus mean when He said, "Let the dead bury the dead..."? Did Jesus do funerals? Why is the word "Church" only mentioned two times in the Gospels and the word "Love" is mentioned over 50 times?

  • 06/01/11--19:00: Fair Tax ~ Inclusive or Exclusive - Jun 02,2011 (chan 2979548)
  • Its FAIR TAX TIME!...and we want to know if this is an inclusive tax, or an exclusive tax. Well, its not so easily defined, because like so many things that Fair Tax Legislation will bring to the hard working people of America, it will bring about an entirely new approach to how our government collects taxes. To begin with, its NOT an Income Tax, and will abolish the IRS...we like that! Furthermore, and its NOT a National Sales tax, at least in the common sense like how its collected in most states...this would be considered exclusive; tacked on at the point of sale. The Fair Tax (H.R.25) will not add taxes onto the price of the items purchased, in fact, the authors of the bill claim that prices will come down as result of the taxes being inclusive. HOW WILL THAT HAPPEN? Tune in, we have questions, too!

  • 06/09/11--19:00: Reasons for Increased Empty Pews? CHURCH HURT 2 6/9/11 - Jun 10,2011 (chan 2979548)
  • Come join The Delicious Devastating Divas--Ms. Computer Lady & Platinum Queens West--on their new show "Yes, You Do Matter". The Ladies will go into part 2 of one the most controversial topics of today--CHURCH HURT. As stated during the last show, the she saying goes "Theres no hurt like church hurt." Quite a few disagree while many by the millions agree with this statement. Church hurt has caused everything from people no longer attending church to people switching demonimations, from infidelity amongst parishoners and leaders to churches forcing men and women to permanently give up their role of pastor, from not being accepted in the "cliques" from "prosperity preaching" benefitting only a few via religious brainwashing. Not to be forgotten are those who found their spiritual needs not met due to being number ### in a 10,000+ member megachurch. Inclusive are those who live lifestyles contrary to whats considered "traditional Christian living". Unfortunately, there are documentations of fights breaking out between church members and officials...These are just a few elements of church hurt. Are there solutions? Have people forgotten the ACTUAL reason to aseemble as Christians in church? Is there too much of the world in the church NOW? Have YOU encountered church hurt? How did you overcome it? Come to the show and lets find solutions to church hurt.
